Why did 5 lb coffee prices change?Updated an hour ago

You may have noticed a change in the pricing of our 5 lb bags starting in October 2026.

We know this is a meaningful change, especially for those of you who regularly buy coffee in 5 lb bags. We also know that no one likes to see the price of something they love go up, and we didn’t make this decision lightly.

Our costs have increased across the board — from green coffee and packaging to roasting, labor and shipping. We recently took a close look at what it actually costs us to produce and get our 5 lb bags to you, and we realized our previous pricing was no longer sustainable.

Our new pricing is:

• Medium & Dark Roasts: $99 per 5 lb bag
• Light Roasts: $118 per 5 lb bag
• Free domestic U.S. shipping is included.

We’ve tried to find a balance that lets us keep doing the things that matter to us: buying great coffee, paying producers fairly, roasting it with care and making Driftaway as accessible as we can.

And even with the new pricing, we believe our 5 lb coffees remain competitively priced for the quality of the coffee and the care that goes into sourcing, roasting and getting it to you.

If you regularly order 5 lb bags, our subscriptions are another way to save:

• Pay-per-shipment subscriptions: 15% off single-bag prices — $84.15 for a 5 lb Medium & Dark Roast or $100.30 for a 5 lb Light Roast. You can adjust your delivery frequency whenever you need to.
• Prepaid subscriptions: up to 10% off pay-per-shipment prices — bringing the per-shipment price down to $75.74 for Medium & Dark and $90.27 for Light Roast on a 12-month plan.
